“Grown-ups never understand anything by themselves, and it is tiresome for children to be always and forever explaining things to them.” Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Family Systems

Family systems are the weft and weave of all human life. Understanding family systems has significance for all clinical work and especially when relating to children.

Over the weekend we are likely to focus on the following areas:

  • Working with families, young people and children
  • Looking through the eyes of a child or young person
  • Making interventions and the rationale for them
  • Family systems; ancestral, original and co-created
  • Play therapy for adults
  • Rejuvenation and self-care of therapists

Learning gained through your own family system experiences and other study will be built on. We will work with a light-hearted touch and aim for increased spontaneity and capacity for playfulness. We will learn through dramatic enactments, sharing, playing, drawing, singing, being in nature and teaching.
